I started collecting this series back in early 2005 when gold looked like a good investment. As it turned out, it was — in fact, it was about the ONLY good investment I ever made! However, I soon discovered that I shared the common fate of all collectors who try to invest in coins, which is that once you have fallen in love with a coin, it is almost impossible to sell it!

I also had 2 complete series of the 10 Franc Vreneli coins which were issued between 1911 and 1922, but I have since sold all of those coins around the beginning of 2006 (when I thought gold was at its peak ... should have waited a little longer, of course...).

Living in Switzerland, of course, makes it easy to find these coins in nice condition because it is almost a matter of Swiss national pride to have some of these in the family ... and rightly so, I believe.
